Where the sea sings my brush dances…

I'm Shelley Perry, a teacher and artist, residing and working in the vibrant coastal town of Bournemouth, Dorset. Throughout my teaching career, I've dedicated myself to nurturing creativity in children. But now, at this pivotal moment in my journey, I've discovered my true passion - painting.

I earned my BA in Art from The University of Warwick while pursuing my QTS. Following that, I ventured to the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean, where I co-hosted my inaugural exhibition, 'Dual Bearings'. Four sun-soaked years later, I returned to the UK to delve deeper into my craft, pursuing an MA in History of Art at Birmingham University.

My time abroad sparked a profound exploration of my painting style, culminating in a unique approach that I continue to refine. Since settling on the picturesque southern coast, I've found inspiration in the natural landscapes around me. Drawing from the calming essence of the sea and the vibrant hues of the Caribbean, my works exude texture and vibrancy, reflecting the places I've lived and the experiences I've cherished with my family, by the shore.
